Our Local History Day this year will look at aspects of Suffolk history and archaeology.
Saturday 25 July 2026 (approx. 10.00 to 5.30). Thomas Paine Lecture Theatre, UEA.
A day of five talks celebrating the history of our southern neighbours, as follows:
'Pakefield to Pagodas: Suffolk's Archaeological Heritage' : Richard Hoggett (Heritage Consultant)
'The Making of the Suffolk Landscape' : Edward Martin (Independent Researcher)
'Where the Dawn Breaks: The Archaeological Landscape of East Suffolk' : Jo Caruth (Cotswold Archaeology)
'Current Research into Roman Villas in Suffolk' : Jude Pluviez (Retired Senior Archaeological Officer)
'The Landscape of Domesday Suffolk': George Barlow (Independent Researcher)
The cost for NAHRG members will be £20.00 per head.
Non-members £30.00 per head (UEA History Dept. staff and students £25.00 per head).
This includes a full day of five presentations, refreshments and a buffet lunch.
